Jaydev Unadkat

Veteran India wicketkeeper-batsman Deep Dasgupta praised Jaydev Unadkat for his match-winning spell against DC. Speaking to Sports Today, Deep Dasgupta stated that it is very crucial that players like Jaydev Unadkat find success in the IPL. He added that the pacer has put in the hard yards all through the year in the domestic circuit.

The 29-year-old seamer was not picked in the Royals' playing XI for their first match of the season against Punjab Kings at the Wankhede Stadium. However, he made his way to the XI, replacing Shreyas Gopal for the game against DC. Unadkat made an immediate impact. He picked up 3 important wickets of Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, and Ajinkya Rahane inside the powerplay. The pacer used his variations to significant effect and finished the game with figures of 3/15.

Chris Morris and I tried to keep it simple: Jaydev Unadkat

Jaydev Unadkat has featured in 1 Test, 7 ODIs, and 10 T20Is. The lanky pacer has not represented India since 2018. Unadkat has been working very hard in the domestic circuit. He led Saurashtra to the Ranji Trophy title in the 2019-20 season. Jaydev scalped a record-breaking tally of 67 wickets in 10 games. He desired an India Test comeback after the Ranji Trophy season last year, but was not with the team.

After an exciting three-wicket win over DC, Jaydev Unadkat said while batting in the last overs, he and Morris tried to keep things simple and stayed calm in the middle. South African batsman David Miller produced a 62-run knock, and it was followed by Morris' cameo of 36 runs off just 18 balls. Jaydev Unadkat also scored an unbeaten 11 off 7 balls. David Miller came out to bat at the score of 17/3 and anchored Rajasthan's innings. And with 27 required off the final two overs, Chris Morris stepped up to the occasion to take his team over the line.

The Proteas all-rounder had a problematic evening earlier this week when skipper Sanju Samson denied him a single. RR lost that match against Punjab Kings. However, Morris kept his cool. The all-rounder redeemed himself with a stunning onslaught against a quality death-bowling unit of DC. Rajasthan Royals recorded their first victory in this season's Indian Premier League (IPL). Rajasthan Royals will now face MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings on Monday.
