India skipper Virat Kohli and middle-order batter KL Rahul have slipped to fifth and eighth spot respectively in the latest Men’s T20I Rankings. The skipper was the highest run-scorer for the team against Pakistan. He scored 57 runs but it was not enough to take India over the line. Meanwhile, Rahul had a dismal outing against the archrival as he managed to score only three runs.
South African batter Aiden Markram and Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan were the latest beneficiaries in the latest T20I rankings. Markram has so far scored 40, and 51 runs in the two games he played against Australia and West Indies respectively.
Meanwhile, Rizwan’s 79 gave Pakistan their first victory against India in the 20-20 World Cup. The batter's enterprising knock allowed skipper Babar Azam to play the role of sheet anchor to perfection.
Rizwan has been in scintillating form in the T20Is this year. He has so far scored 831 runs and has formed four partnerships of over 100 runs with Azam.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz has looked in decent touch with the bat as well. He scored a valuable 46 against Scotland and enabled the team to post a huge total of 190. He has gained in rankings and is currently placed 12th on the list.
All-rounder Shakib-al-Hasan has regained the top spot for the all-rounder. He has so far picked 11 wickets in just 4 games.
