India captain Virat Kohli registered another record on Thursday after securing a remarkable 10-wicket victory over England in the third Test. The 32-year-old got the maximum number of Test wins for India as a captain on home soil. Kohli has surpassed former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. In India, Dhoni had 21 wins from 30 matches. Kohli took 29 Test matches to achieve the historic milestone.

Since making his captaincy debut in 2014, Kohli has seen success in all formats. He has already bagged 35 wins in 59 matches which is the highest number of wins in Tests among Indian captains. In 14 games, he ended up with the losing side, while the other 14 games resulted in a draw.

MS Dhoni had 27 victories in 60 Tests. The other renowned captains of Team India, such as Sourav Ganguly and Mohammed Azharuddin, had 21 and 14 Test victories.

England is out of the World Test Championship final

The second Test match in Chennai saw a massive turnaround after the crowd's return into the stadium. India leveled the series by defeating England by 317 runs. India gave England a much stronger statement by taking a 2-1 lead in the four-match series. The Indian cricket team took just two days to demolish the well-built English squad. Virat Kohli & Co. concluded the pink-ball match in style under floodlights.

England is now out of the World Test Championship final spot after the defeat in the third match. Australia can still get in the final against New Zealand. If Joe Root and the team snatch a victory in the fourth and the final Test in India, Australia will play the finals against NZ. The last match is scheduled to take place at the same venue from March 4.
