Chasing a target of 165, India had to deal with an early blow as KL Rahul returned for a 5-ball duck. However, Ishan Kishan and Kohli's 94-run partnership for the second-wicket eased the chase for India. At the post-match, Virat Kohli acknowledged the role played by De Villiers in his return to form. He also attributed his wife Anushka Sharma, who is staying with him in the team's bio-bubble.

Over the years, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers' friendship has flourished. Both cricketers have been a crucial part of the RCB camp for a long time now and came very close to winning the trophy in the 2016 season. The pair will once again reunite in the upcoming IPL 2021 edition, starting from April. Royal Challengers Bangalore will play the season-opener against defending champions Mumbai Indians in Chennai. With the ongoing series now level at 1-1, the third match on March 16 at the same stadium is set to be another cracker.
