Virat Kohli is probably the most animated cricketer you’d ever see in the current era. He never shies away from expressing himself and is always ready to give it back to the opposers. England fans trolled India after their loss in Headingley thus when Kohli had an opportunity to give it back to them, he didn’t give a second thought and mocked them using a 10-finger trumpet job and pointed it towards The Barmy Army as his team inched closer to a victory.
As expected, England fans were not amused by the animated gesture from the Indian skipper and called him out on social media. A user wrote ‘How dare he’ while England’s Daily Mail cricket journalist Lawrence Booth took a dig at Kohli and said, “Love this. His teammates are celebrating a wicket, but Kohli finds the time to taunt the England fans. Doesn’t miss a trick!”
Former England batsman Nick Compton was also not impressed with Kohli’s actions and said, “It doesn’t look good for him! No need.” Compton had earlier slammed Kohli after his tussle with James Anderson, calling the Indian skipper the most foul-mouthed cricketer.
Meanwhile, India will be delighted with the win. They have now taken an unassailable lead in the series and England will have to register a win to level the series. A draw or loss will give India its first Test series win in England after 14 years.
