Virat Kohli is currently busy playing for India in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup. He has shown a great run of form with the bat for the Men in Blue. In Australia so far, he has managed three fifty-plus scores in four matches. Before the Asia Cup 2022, he was having bad form with the bat for a long time.

But, since that tournament, he has shown his class. Now, the former Pakistan player, Wasim Akram opened up about the current attitude of the star Indian batter. He heaped high praises for the former Indian skipper as he has impressed everyone with such performances.

“He said no I got dropped as a captain, fine! I will play as a batter” - Wasim Akram on Virat Kohli

While speaking on A Sports, Wasim Akram said that at the start of this year, Virat Kohli lost his captaincy from all formats of the game. Still, he did not get demotivated as he choose to perform as a player for the team.

Wasim Akram said: "Instead of making a face, I got dropped as a captain and blah blah blah. I will just stand quietly at short fine-leg but he said no I got dropped as a captain, fine! I will play as a batter and also be the best fielder on the Indian side. In Pakistan, you go home after you are dropped from captaincy. I don't remember any player (from Pakistan) who has got dropped from captaincy and is making heads turn as a player. "

Along with him, Shoaib Malik said: “This is something we've got to learn from Virat Kohli. Here in Pakistan, if you've scored runs, then people roam around with their collars up. There's no harm in doing that but always be a team man whether you have scored runs or not. His quality is that he plays the entire 40 overs with the same intensity. You will always see Kohli trying to help out the team in the field. It doesn't matter whether he has scored a hundred or has been dismissed for a zero.”
