However, brilliant performance in the 13th edition of the IPL saw Mohammed Siraj receiving a maiden call-up for the Indian Test team. Virat Kohli has helped me reach greater heights in my cricketing career: Mohammed Siraj

Several young players of the team had stepped up to the mark and performed brilliantly for the team. One of those players was pacer Mohammed Siraj. The 27-year-old ended up as the highest wicket-taker for the Indian cricket team. The right-arm fast bowler picked up 13 wickets in the series at an average of 29.53. This also included a maiden five-wicket haul (5/73). Siraj continued his exploits in the 14th season of the IPL as well.

Mohammed Siraj has often praised Indian captain Virat Kohli for backing him in his difficult time and helping him reach greater heights in his cricketing career. Recently, Siraj repeated the same sentiments as he expressed his gratitude to Virat Kohli for always being there with him. Furthermore, in the interaction, Siraj talked about his struggle during the early days of his cricketing career. The 27-year-old disclosed that a few years back, he used to own a Bajaj Platina bike. Siraj still has that bike with him as it is a symbol of his struggle, and it also encourages him to do better in life.

Considering how he troubled the Australian players, Siraj is also expected to get opportunities in the UK tour. Team India is scheduled to play World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand. It will then be followed by a 5-match Test series against the England cricket team.
