Virender Sehwag names Rohit Sharma as the best T20 skipper in the world

According to Virender Sehwag, the former India opener, Rohit Sharma is the best T20 skipper of the world. Sehwag came to this conclusion after Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians to win IPL 2020 trophy for the fifth time. MI defeated Delhi Capitals by five wickets to hold their title.

MI's five IPL titles were all under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma in only eight years. He led his side from the very front in the IPL 2020 final and top-scored in the match to enable Mumbai Indians to chase down a tricky total of 157 inside 19 overs with no difficulty.

Rohit Sharma stayed on the crease till the 17th over and never permitted Delhi Capitals to lead their way back into the game. The right-handed skipper and Quinton de Kock gave Mumbai Indians a strong beginning by scoring 45 runs in only 4 overs.

From that point, Mumbai Indians stayed in charge of the game all through. When Rohit Sharma went back to the pavilion in the 17th over, his side required only 20 runs off 22 balls. The Mumbai Indians captain scored 68 runs from 51 balls.

Ishan Kishan played essential innings, scoring 33 and staying till the end of the game to guarantee Mumbai reach the given target with no difficulty.

After the end of the game, Virender Sehwag posted on Twitter to salute Mumbai Indians in his own style. Before calling Rohit Sharma the best T20 skipper, he hailed the Mumbai-based team as the best T20 franchise in the world. He moreover applauded the officials for organizing the IPL 2020 in such a smooth way in these difficult times.

“Ab to aadat si hai sabko aise dhone ki. The best T 20 franchisee in the world and the best captain in the format. Deserving winners , Mumbai Indians, koi shak,” wrote Virender Sehwag.

“Amazingly well organised tournament despite various challenges,” he added.
