Sundar concluded 2020 by finishing as the highest ranked Indian bowler in the ICC T20I bowling rankings table. This is the 2nd consecutive year in which the bowler managed to do so. Back in 2019, Sundar ended at 14th in the ICC T20I rankings, with 599 points to his name at that time. Deepak Chahar was the 2nd highest ranked Indian bowler, with 581 points.
This year, Sundar improved somewhat, finishing at no 12 in the ICC T20I bowlers ranking table, with 614 points to his name. However, Jasprit Bumrah was the 2nd highest ranked Indian bowler this time, with 593 points to his name.

The rise of Sundar in the T20I format
Washington Sundar made his T20I debut in 2017 against Sri Lanka. In 2018, Sundar got 6 chances to play for India. In those 6 outings, he picked 9 wickets with a superb economy rate of 6.13.
