If reports are to be believed, RCB all-rounder Washington Sundar is likely to miss the second leg of IPL. Sundar was ruled out of the England series after being hit by a lethal delivery from Mohammed Siraj while playing for County XI against India in the warm-up game. Sundar reportedly had a fractured finger which needed at least five weeks to heal. However, as per the latest reports, Sundar may not be able to fully recover before the IPL.

BCCI see Sundar as an integral part of India’s squad for the T20 World Cup thus may ask him to not rush himself into the IPL. It is also learnt that Sundar may go under the knife post the T20 World Cup to mend his finger. The all-rounder will return to Chennai from England where he will start his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy. Sundar is not the only injury concern for India as Shubman Gill and Avesh Khan have also been ruled out of the England series. According to reports, Suryakumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw will join the Indian squad in England.

Meanwhile, if Sundar is ruled out of the IPL, it will be a massive blow to Virat Kohli-led RCB and he is one of the integral members of the squad. RCB enjoyed a decent run in the first leg with five wins in seven games and Sundar delivered satisfactory performances. The off-spinner picked up three wickets at an economy rate of 7.37. He was even promoted to open the batting against Mumbai Indians in the absence of Devdutt Padikkal.
