On 19 December 2022, Hobart Hurricanes took on Perth Scorchers in Launceston in the ongoing Big Bash League. It was the eighth match of the tournament. However, Hobart were looking for a win after losing their tournament opener. On the other hand, Perth were looking to win their second consecutive match.
But, Hobart Hurricanes managed to win the match by eight runs. Shadab Khan had a good performance in the clash with both the bat and the ball. But, he came up with a fantastic catch while bowling, and that video has now gone viral on social media platforms as fans found that fantastic.

Shadab Khan scored 22 runs while he took one wicket also in this match
Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the 19th over of Perth Scorcher’s innings. Shadab Khan was bowling while Aaron Hardie was batting. On the third delivery of that over, Hardie tried to flick the ball to the leg side. But, he managed only a leading edge and the ball carried toward Shadab.
Then, the Pakistan spinner leaped himself in front of Richardson at the non-striker's end to pull off a superb catch. Thus, Aaron Hardie got out after scoring 12 runs off 13 balls. Speaking of the match, Hobart won the toss and opted to bat first. While batting first, they scored 172 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Skipper Matthew Wade scored 51 runs off 29 balls, including five fours and two sixes. Shadab Khan also scored 22 runs off 17 balls, including two fours. Tim David scored 46* runs off 28 balls, including four boundaries and one six.
For Perth, Jhye Richardson took three wickets for 26 runs in four overs. In reply, Perth Scorchers managed 164 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Thus, they won the match by eight runs. Shadab Khan took one wicket for 22 runs in four overs. Hobart’s Patrick Dooley won the player of the match award for taking four wickets for 16 runs in four overs.
