The ex-Pakistan skipper refutes Virat Kohli's yo-yo test score
Despite his amazing batting performances and fitness, Virat Kohli failed to be the top scorer in India's recent Yo-yo test. Kohli completed the test with a score of 17.2, while young batter Shubman Gill top scored with 18.5. However, many were surprised that Kohli didn't complete it as the top scorer, which raised questions about his fitness level.
Meanwhile, former Pakistan captain Salman Butt came up with a theory to explain Kohli's test results. Butt believes that Kohli just didn't want to waste his energy trying to top score the Test, as it was not necessary. "I'll tell you one thing. When a player reaches a certain age and knows what the required limit is, he will simply cross it and be done with it. In the Pakistan team, we were also taking part in these fitness tests", says Salman Butt.
"The youngsters had this craze of pushing the limits. The seniors, no matter how fit they are, just try to cross the benchmark and let it be. They don't try to push further because it also creates unnecessary expectations," Butt said on his official YouTube channel. It's worth noting that India's clash against Pakistan is under threat as rain is expected to play spoilsport on Saturday.
