Pakistan and Afghanistan locked horns in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 Super Four round game in Sharjah on September 7. It was a low-scoring tight game between the two teams. Batting first, the Blue Brigade could only score 129/6. Their batters got starts but couldn't take the team to a substantial total. On the other hand, Pakistan bowlers bowled well in tandem and everyone picked wickets.
However, the Mohammad Nabi-led side wasn't ready to give up just yet. They started with the wickets of Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman in the powerplay. Thanks to the likes of Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmad, and Shadab Khan, their team looked like winning the game easily. However, as people say, "Notorious habits don't go away easily". The same thing happened with the Green Brigade.
They kept losing wickets in regular intervals and looked like losing the game after the ninth wicket. However, Naseem Shah, who is a rising star with the ball, stood for the team with the bat. He hit two sixes in the final over to take the team to the final. After the game, the Afghan fans couldn't believe what they saw on the field.
They started damaging the spectator area in the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. They started throwing seats at Pakistan fans and some of them got hurt in the process. The video of the incident has been doing rounds on social media.

This is not the first time that Pakistan fans were attacked during a Pakistan-Afghanistan game. During the 2019 ODI World Cup game between the two teams, fans from both sides had an ugly altercation outside the stadium. That game had also gone down to the last over. Talking about the ongoing tournament. Pakistan and Sri Lanka are assured of their place in the final. This will be the first time after 2014 that both teams will play in the final of the tournament.
