On 18 January 2023. Abu Dhabi Knight Riders took on Desert Vipers in the ongoing International League T20. It was the seventh match of the ongoing tournament. Knight Riders were looking to win their first match of the competition. But, they failed to do so as Desert Vipers won the match by seven wickets.
Wanindu Hasaranga won the player of the match award for his bowling performance. Alex Hales played a blistering knock during the successful chase. However, he came up with an outrageous six during his innings. He left his fans and all players stunned with that six. Now, the video has now gone viral.

Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the third over of Desert Vipers’ innings. Alex Hales was batting while Lahiru Kumara was bowling. On the first delivery of that over, Hales took a step back and launched a cover drive into the stands. That six left all fans and players stunned. Therefore, the video went viral instantly in social media platforms.
Some fans also claimed that might be the shot of the tournament. Speaking of the match, Desert Vipers won the toss and asked Abu Dhabi Knight Riders to bat first. While batting first, they scored 133 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Brandon King scored 57 runs off 44 balls, including five fours and two sixes. Wanindu Hasaranga took three wickets for 18 runs in four overs. Along with him, Gus Atkinson, Sheldon Cottrell, and Rohan Mustafa were other wicket-takers.
In reply, Desert Vipers chased down the target in just 15.4 overs. They won the match by seven wickets. Alex Hales scored 64 runs off 47 balls, including seven fours and one six. He batted at a strike rate of 136.17. Sam Billings scored 35* runs off 29 balls to ensure the victory. For Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Akeal Hosein, Andre Russell, and Sunil Narine took one wicket each.
