Star Caribbean all-rounder Andre Russell smashed the longest six in the ongoing edition of Major League Cricket 2023 in the USA. He hit the 108-meter-long six in a match against San Francisco Unicorns. Notably, Russell is in action with Los Angeles Knight Riders in the inaugural season of MLC.

He smashed this remarkable six on the first ball of the 19th over when LAKR needed 50 runs off the last 12 balls to win the match. The video of this sensational six smashed by the Caribbean star is now making rounds on social media.

Here’s the video:

Speaking of the action of the match, San Francisco Unicorns batted first after winning the toss; they posted a huge total of 212 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Opener and wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade played a brilliant knock of 78 runs off just 41 balls with seven boundaries and five sixes to his name.

Apart from him, Marcus Stoinis and Corey Anderson also scored 37 and 39 runs, respectively. Adam Zampa scalped three wickets for Knight Riders in the first innings, whereas Ali Khan, Andre Russell, and Sunil Narine also claimed one each for their side.

Later, while chasing the target, Knight Riders got a good and stable start of 55 runs for the first wicket by the openers Jason Roy and Unmukt Chand. But they couldn’t capitalize on it to convert it into a big score just after Jason Roy’s dismissal on the individual score of 45 runs off just 21 balls with four boundaries and four sixes on his credit. Other than Roy, it was Andre Russell who managed to cross the individual mark of 40+ runs. He contributed a quick knock of 42 runs off just 26 balls with two boundaries and four sixes.

But LAKR couldn’t chase down the target and got restricted to the score of 191 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the entire 20 overs. Unicorns’ batter Matthew Wade won the ‘Player of the Match award for his match-defining knock.
