The young RCB wicketkeeper Anuj Rawat amazed everyone with his brilliant glove work behind the wickets in the recently-concluded 60th match of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League 2023 against Rajasthan Royals. The moment came on the last ball of the eighth over of the Rajasthan Royals innings while they were chasing the target of 172 runs posted by RCB.

It all happened when Shimron Hetmyer played in the deep point region and ran for a single, the non-striker Ashwin wanted the second run but Hetmyer denied and Ashwin fell short to cover the ground. Meanwhile, Siraj threw the ball to the wicketkeeper Anuj Rawat and the latter showed his brilliant reflexes and presence of mind with the ball to run Ashwin out.

Talking about the entire action of the match between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the visitors’ skipper Faf du Plessis won the flip of the coin and decided to bat first. Batting first, RCB went on to post a total of 171 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Skipper du Plessis and all-rounder Glenn Maxwell scored crucial half-centuries of 55 and 54 runs respectively.

Apart from his heroic wicketkeeping, Anuj Rawat also played a quick cameo for RCB in the first innings as he scored 29 runs off just 11 balls with three fours and two sixes to his name.

While defending the target, the bowling attack of RCB completely outmuscled the Rajasthan Royals’ batters. The hosts got bundled up only on the score of 59 runs in 10.3 overs. Wayne Parnell scalped three wickets alongside two wickets each by Michael Bracewell and Karn Sharma. Other than this, Mohammed Siraj and Glenn Maxwell also claimed one wicket each.

Eventually, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match by a massive margin of 112 runs to keep their hopes alive in the contention of the playoffs race in the current season of the tournament.
