Talking about the match, it was pretty much a dress rehearsal for Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Both teams have qualified for the final as they won their initial games of the Super Four round. In the last game of the Super Four round, Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by five wickets. Talking about both teams, they have had a similar journey in the tournament so far. Talking about the Lankan Lions, their tournament started with a heavy loss against Afghanistan in the Group stages.
After this, they were staring down a tournament exit due to their poor Net Run Rate (NRR). However, Afghanistan's win over Bangladesh meant that the Dasun Shananka-led side just needed to win their match against Bangladesh. They won against Bangla Tigers and advanced to the next round. On the other hand, Pakistan lost its first game of the Group stages to India. They then beat Hong Kong to advance to the next round. Since then, both teams dominated the Super Four round and now will play for the title on September 11 in Dubai.
