Kuldeep Yadav is from a dying breed of bowlers. In a day when bowlers are shying away from spinning the ball and making use of other variations, Yadav keeps on spinning the ball as much as he can.

He gave a prime example of it in the ongoing ODI match between India and South Africa when he bowled Aiden Markram with an unplayable delivery. The ball came up in the 16th over when Yadav was bowling his last ball. The 27-year-old pitched the ball outside of the off stump and it turned so much to go on and hit the middle and leg stump. Everyone, be it the batter, keeper, or the viewers were stumped watching the ball turn as much as it did.

Soon, the clips of the wicket started doing rounds on the internet with everyone claiming it to be one of the best spin balls in recent memory. Many however have quickly forgotten that Yadav bowled an eerily similar delivery to dismiss Babar Azam in the ODI World Cup of 2019.
Yadav had called it the ‘perfect ball’ and had explained how it had the perfect drift and turn to outdo the defence of Babar Azam. As Yadav bowled Markram in a similar fashion many were taken to the 2019 World Cup. It was something of a clock being turned back.

Here's the two identical balls:

Talking of the match, it was a late start due to a wet outfield at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. The toss was delayed by half an hour at first. Later the umpires decided to shorten that game by 10 overs allowing both sides only 40 overs.

South Africa started on the front foot but soon India found a way to take the first wicket. Shardul Thakur dismissed Janneman Malan at 49 and clean-bowled Temba Bavuma at 70. Kuldeep Yadav clinched the third wicket with a sensational spin ball and Ravi Bishnoi brought another scalp in terms of Quinton de Kock’s wicket. South Africa are currently 156/4 in 29.2 overs.
