In the Saudi Pro League, Al Nassr's loss against Al-Ittihad drew further jeers directed towards Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo struggled, once more, as he has now gone two games without a goal. As Al-Nassr was ousted from first place in the table as Lionel Messi's name was chanted by the Al-Ittihad supporters.

At the conclusion of the game, Ronaldo was an agitated figure and needed to be calmed down by his colleagues before smashing a water bottle as he walked down the tunnel and departed the field.

Throughout the game, Al-Ittihad supporters, reportedly, chanted "Messi" to mock Ronaldo. Romarinho scored the game's lone goal in the 80th minute. In extra time, Al Nassr's captain Ronaldo had a possibility of earning his team a point, but goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe made a superb save. Al Ittihad increased their lead over Al Nassr by one point, as a result, of the victory.

This is the second time in as many games that a young fan has accosted the former Juventus player by using Lionel Messi's name.

Ronaldo, later, moved to Twitter to convey a powerful message to the Al-Nassr supporters as he praised them for their support. He said, "Disappointed with the result, but we stay focused on our season and the games ahead. Thank you Al Nassr fans for your support, we know we can count on you!"

Cristiano Ronaldo got his first individual honour since joining Al Nassr when he was named February's Saudi Pro League's Player of the Month. Ronaldo contributed eight goals and two assists in four games in February.

Several people throughout the world look up to Cristiano Ronaldo, and his fans nearly always imitate his celebratory style. A recent video of an Indonesian child playing with his mates and scoring an outstanding free kick has appeared on social media. The free kick brings to mind his similar goal against Portsmouth for Manchester United during his first stint at the club. The little player hit the traditional "Siuu" celebration after scoring a beautiful goal to celebrate.
