Dasun Shanaka left everyone in his awe when he played a brilliant knock in the third T20I against Australia. The team skipper played an excellent innings in the death overs to take Sri Lanka through the chase with four wickets to spare. In his innings, he scored 54 runs in 25 balls.

He walked to the middle in the 13th over when the fourth wicket fell and the team needed 81 runs to win the match. The team had struggled to keep up with the run rate before that. Shanaka, too, had a slow start to the game, scoring only six runs in the first 12 balls he faced. The team then needed 57 runs to win in the last three overs.

He instantly changed his approach and had a terrific run with the bat, scoring 48 runs in the following 13 balls. In these 13 balls, he struck four sixes and five fours to help his team win the match. This was the biggest score by any player in the last three overs.

After the match, the 31-year old took to Twitter to pen down a message for his fans. "I’m very happy to see these smiling faces of my people," he wrote in the tweet. He also posted a video along with the message where fans can be seen overjoyed with the miracle that Shanaka produced.
