Australia had a dominant 10-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the first of the two-match Test series in Galle. The Australian spinners had a great run in the game, which always kept the hosts restricted. Australia only had to chase down five runs to win the game, which David Warner did in just four balls.

However, right before hitting a four and a six to win the match, Warner was involved in another hilarious incident. He was hit by a bail on his crotch while fielding at leg-slip in the previous innings. In the 23rd over of the innings, Travis Head bowled to Jefferey Vandersay and took his stumps. The bail then flew and hit Warner. Everyone was spotted laughing as it was a hilarious moment on the field.

As for the match, Nathan Lyon and Head dominated the game, taking the advantage of the turning track. Lyon took a five-wicket haul to restrict Sri Lanka to just 212 runs in the first innings. Only Niroshan Dickwella managed to score for the team. During his brief stint at the crease, he scored 58 runs.

The Australian batters then had a solid performance with the bat. They, too, were troubled by spin but had some good partnerships. Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green were the top performers with the bat, scoring 71 runs and 77 runs, respectively. The two helped the team reach a score of 321 runs, taking a 109 runs lead.

Lyon and Head each got four wickets in the following innings, limiting Sri Lanka to 113 runs. In the game, none of the Sri Lankan batters was able to score any major runs. They could only manage a lead of four runs, setting a target of five runs.

David Warner then hit a four and a six in the first over to help his team win the game. With this, Australia claimed a 1-0 series lead. The next match will be played at the same venue from the 8th of July.
