After winning the 20-20 World Cup 2022 against Pakistan, England kicked off their preparation for the next 50-over World Cup on 17 November. They took on Australia in the first match of the three-match ODI series in Adelaide. The next 50-over World Cup is going to happen in India in 2023.
So, keeping an aim on that tournament, this series is going to be a huge one for both of these cricketing giants. Meanwhile, Pat Cummins won the toss and asked England to bat. However, England gave a debut cap to Luke Wood. But, a video has gone viral where this player got involved in a funny incident on his debut while batting.

Luke Wood scored 10 runs off 10 balls, including one four against Australia
Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the 47th over of England’s innings. Luke Wood was batting for England along with David Willey. On the fourth delivery of that over, Wood drove the ball straight of mid-on and was looking for an easy single run. But, he slipped over and fell flat on his face. Fans found it so funny that they made the video viral instantly.
However, he did not sustain any injury. But, Wood failed to get a single on that delivery. Luke Wood scored 10 runs off 10 balls, including one four on his ODI debut against Australia. Speaking of the match, England batted first and scored 287 runs for nine wickets in 50 overs. Dawid Malan was the lone warrior from the visitors. He scored 134 runs off 128 balls, including 12 fours and four sixes. He only managed to bring some stability to England’s innings. Along with him, only David Willey scored 34* runs off 40 balls.
He managed to hit three fours in his innings. Both innings from Willy and Malan brought some stability to England's batting after suffering a quick collapse at the top order. For Australia, skipper Pat Cummins took three wickets for 62 runs in his 10 overs. Adam Zampa again impressed his fans. He managed to take three wickets for 55 runs in his 10 overs.
