Watch- Faf du Plessis hits a six over bowlers head to reach his century in the CPL 2022

Faf Du Plessis is one of the greatest modern-day batters in the world right now. His knack for playing all around the ground with absolute surety makes him one of the most sought-after players in 20-20 leagues around the world. He has on many occasions snatched victory from the jaws of defeat for Chennai in the Indian T20 League. Now he does the same for the Bangalore team.

Given his immense talent, the South African batter was signed by St Lucia Kings in the Caribbean Premier League 2021 edition. The right-hand batter was made the captain of the team and took them on the verge of qualification in the ongoing CPL 2022.

With eight points the SLK are second on the points table and will qualify with just a win. SLK’s ninth match was another example of Du Plessis's heroics as the Protea batter came up with a sensational century in the do-or-die match.

After electing to bat first, the South African batter smashed 103 runs in just 59 deliveries to take his team to a massive 194/5 against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. While many take a quick single to reach the milestone, Du Plessis hit a straight six over the bowler to clinch his century.

Faf du Plessis hit 10 fours and six massive sixes in his century knock and took his team to 194/5 against the Amazon Warriors. Niroshan Dickwella also played an important inning of 36 in 32 deliveries.

Afghanistan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz started the run chase by hitting a quickfire half-century (52 off 26). It was then Sai Hope who played a match-winning inning of 59 off of 30 deliveries and took the game home with Romario Shepherd (10*) in 19.2 overs.

Du Plessis-led side has another opportunity to qualify for the next stage in the CPL. In match 29th, the Saint Lucia Kings will meet Jamaica Tallawahs, the winner of which will move to the next stage.
