Dinesh Karthik did not get an opportunity to bat in the match against the Netherlands
Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the eighth over of the match when the Netherlands were batting. Colin Ackermann and Bas de Leede were batting at that time. For India, Axar Patel was bowling. On the fifth delivery of that over, Axar bowled a flighted delivery which Ackermann tried to hit out of the ground by coming down the track.
But, he missed it completely as the ball straight went to Dinesh Karthik. But, the veteran wicketkeeper failed to grab it and missed the stumping chance. Then, fans were seen chanting “Dhoni, Dhoni” as he was famous for such stumpings. However, Karthik was not happy at all with himself for missing the stumping.
Speaking about the match, Rohit Sharma won the toss and choose to bat first. India scored 179 runs for two wickets in 20 overs. The Indian skipper scored 53 runs off 39 balls, including four boundaries and three sixes. Along with him, Virat Kohli hit 62* runs off 44 balls, at a strike rate of 140.90. Yadav won the player of the match award for his match-winning knock.
