On 26 October 2022, England took on Ireland in their second match of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup in Melbourne. England won their first match against Afghanistan while Ireland lost the first match against Sri Lanka. So, the stage was set at the MCG for a great battle between these sides.
In several World Cup ties, Ireland have surprised many by producing upsets. So, Irish fans were hoping for another upset by their team in the clash. England won the toss and asked Ireland to bat first. But, during their innings, a funny incident took place during the match as the video went viral instantly.

Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the 15th over of the innings. Sam Curran was bowling for England while the Irish skipper Andrew Balbirnie was batting. On the third delivery of that over, Balbirnie smashed hit the ball to the stands for a six. But, a fan tried to catch the ball.
But, his attempt was a massive failure as he fall down and fans found it very funny. However, he looked absolutely fine as the fan was found with big smiles. Speaking about the match, Paul Stirling and Andrew Balbirnie came out to bat for Ireland. But, England bowlers started well as Stirling departed after scoring 14 runs off eight balls.
But, Balbirnie notched up a good fifty for his team. He scored 62 runs off 47 balls, including five fours and two sixes. Along with him, other batters came up with some little contributions as Ireland reached 156 runs for nine wickets in 19 overs. For England, Mark Wood took three wickets for 34 runs in four overs. Sam Curran continued his form from the last match as he took two wickets for 30 runs in three overs. Liam Livingstone also came up as a surprise as he grabbed three wickets for 17 runs in his three overs against the Irish.
