WATCH: Finn Allen gets run out in dramatic way during MLC 2023 match against Seattle Orcas

Finn Allen scored 28 runs off just 10 balls but ended up on the wrong side in the match as San Francisco Unicorns lost the match by a margin of 35 runs.

Star New Zealand batter Finn Allen is currently playing for the San Francisco Unicorns in the ongoing Major League Cricket 2023 in the USA. He was last seen playing against the Seattle Orcas in the fourth match of the tournament at the Grand Prairie Stadium. During the match, Finn Allen made it to the headlines of social media for his unfortunate dismissal when Unicorns were chasing the target of 178 runs in the second innings.

It happened on the second ball of the fourth over in the second innings of the game when the Unicorns were comfortably batting with 42 runs in only 3.1 overs. Allen played the second ball of the over to the leg side and started running but the ball went straight into the hands of Shehan Jayasuriya, who didn’t make any mistake to smash a direct hit on the non-striker’s end.

The video of this unfortunate dismissal of Finn Allen is now making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared on Twitter.

Speaking of the action of the match, the Aaron Finch-led Unicorns ended up on the losing side as they got bundled up only on the score of 142 runs while chasing the target of 178 runs. Eventually, the Orcas won the match by 35 runs.

Heinrich Klassen won the ‘Player of the Match award for his match-defining knock in favour of Orcas in the first innings. He scored 53 runs off just 31 balls with four boundaries and three sixes to his name. Apart from Klassen, the three 30+ knocks played by Nauman Anwar, Shehan Jayasuriya, and Shimron Hetmyer helped the Seattle Orcas to reach the total of 177 runs for the loss of four wickets allotted 20 overs.

Later, in the second innings of the match, Cameron Gannon bowled brilliantly for Orcas and scalped four wickets at the cost of only 23 runs in 3.5 overs.
