India started off their campaign against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 in a tremendous fashion as they crushed Pakistan in the last-over thriller by five wickets. The heroics from Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya ensured that the Indian team crossed the line albeit the former perished in the last over of the match. After the match, in a usual ritual, Ravindra Jadeja attended an interview with Sanjay Manjrekar and the commentator came up with a cheeky first question.

"First question - You are ok to talk to me? Right, Jaddu?," Manjrekar asked and the all-rounder did not think twice before responding positively. "Yeah, yeah (laughs). Absolutely!!," Jadeja replied to Manjrekar's cheeky question. The conversation went viral right away and this traces us back to the Jadeja-Manjrekar controversy when the latter came up with the 'bits and pieces' comment on the all-rounder. The Chennai batter then replied in style with his performances in the 2019 50-over World Cup and since then, the graph has only been going upward for the star all-rounder.

The 34-year-old acknowledged the Pakistani bowlers and heaped praise on Hardik Pandya for finishing off the game for India. He added that it was a tricky wicket to bat on and was happy to admit his desire to finish the match.

"We wanted to play till the end, they have a very good bowling attack, their fast bowlers don’t give anything away. I could have finished the game - left-arm spinner against the left-hander, but Hardik played superbly," the all-rounder said after the match.

India thrashed Pakistan in the second match of the Asia Cup 2022:

The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma called it right at the toss and put Pakistan batters under pressure right away to set a target for the Men in Blue. The Indian bowlers were breathing fire as the lead pacer Bhuvaneshwar Kumar provided the initial breakthrough for the team followed by a brilliant spell from Hardik Pandya. The Men in Green were reduced to 147 and it was expected to be an easy chase for the Indian team until the debutant Naseem Shah dismissed KL Rahul for a golden duck.

Some top-class bowling from the Pakistani bowlers kept Indian batters under pressure and the match went down the wire on the back of heroics from Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya. The Gujarat all-rounder finished things off for India as he smashed a six off the fourth ball of the final over of the match to clinch the win for India. India chased down the target with five wickets under their belt and with two balls to spare.
