Recently, America's Frances Tiafoe earned a lot of fame after upsetting Rafael Nadal in the ongoing US Open 2022 to reach his maiden quarterfinal. This was regarded as one of his greatest achievements in his career. He then went on to beat Andrey Rublev to become the first American after Andy Roddick to qualify for the semis. Suddenly, the fans started anticipating that history would be made this year.

Frances was slotted to play in the semi-final of the premier Tennis event against Carlos Alcaraz. Both players were looking to play their maiden final of the tournament. The game was expected to be a thrilling one. However, thanks to the mistakes made by Frances, his opponent made it to the final after winning by 6-7 (6), 6-3, 6-1, 6-7 (5), and 6-3. This loss meant the American's dreams of winning the tournament were shattered.

After the loss, he said that he gave everything and acknowledged that Carlos played well in the game. He also promised the fans that he would win the tournament one day.

"I gave everything I had," he began, addressing the supporters in an interview broadcast by ESPN. "Too good from Carlos tonight. I gave it everything I had for the last two weeks. I came here wanting to win the US Open and I feel I let you guys down.

"This one hurts. It really, really hurts."

"I'm happy I got to share the court and such a big stage with you. I'm going to come back and I will win this thing one day. I'm sorry guys."
