Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has received applause from all of the football fraternity for showing his support for Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr, who has recently faced racism. Real Madrid forward Vinicius recently made headlines for dancing to celebrate his goals.

The president of the Spanish Agents Association, Pedro Bravo, claimed that the Brazilian was 'playing the monkey' by doing so during a television programme. Koke, the captain of Atletico Madrid, has also warned the youngster not to celebrate his goals ahead of today's (September 18) Madrid derby. The Spaniard insisted that if the 22-year-old performed his controversial samba dance at the Wanda Metropolitano, he would get in trouble.

However, several current and former Brazilian players have come out in support of Vinicius in recent days. Pele is among those who have sent encouraging messages to Real Madrid's star. After scoring against Brentford, Arsenal forward Jesus paid tribute to Vinicius by performing his own dance move. The 25-year-old helped the Gunners' second goal against the Bees and celebrated in style.

The way the Brazil international showed his support for Vinicius has not gone unnoticed on social media. Several fans have taken to Twitter to praise the Arsenal star for his touching tribute. Arsenal faced Brentford in their seventh Premier League game of the season. They lead Thomas Frank's team to a 3-0 win and will be pleased with their performance.

With this victory over the Bees, the north London giants reclaim first place in the league table. Manchester City dropped a spot in the table after scoring 17 points in seven games.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, is currently second in La Liga with 15 points from five games. Barcelona currently leads the table, having earned 16 points from six games. Los Blancos, like Arsenal, will be looking to reclaim their position as La Liga table-toppers today. A win over Atletico Madrid would return them to the top of the table.
