On the other hand, it was Sri Lanka’s first match after getting qualified for the “Super 12” stage. So, the home fans were hoping to see a better performance from the Aussies in this clash.

Glenn Maxwell looked in severe pain after getting hit by Lahiru Kamara

Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the 12th over of Australia’s innings. Lahiru Kamara was bowling at that over for Sri Lanka. For Australia, Gleen Mazwell was batting. On the third delivery of that over, Maxwell tried to hit the short ball out of the park. But, he missed completely.

Then, the ball went to hit his throat and he was in complete discomfort. Medical representatives rushed to him. But, he continued to bat as it seemed like he was fine. But, in the next over only, he got out for 23 runs off 12 balls, including two fours and two sixes. He batted at a strike rate of 191.66.

Speaking of the match, Sri Lanka managed only 157 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Pathum Nissanka scored 40 runs off 45 balls. Charith Asalanka scored 38* runs off 25 balls, including three fours and two sixes. For Australia, five different bowlers took one wicket each. However, Australians made a steady start to the chase. After 13 overs, they are at 97 runs for three wickets. Skipper Aaron Finch is still batting after scoring 25 runs off 36 balls, including one six only. However, David Warner failed again as he scored only 11 runs off 10 balls. Warner did not even manage a boundary during his short stay at the crease.
