The summer transfer window has just ended, with football clubs all over the world making high-profile signings. Clubs have also tried to make their new signings stand out by introducing them in a unique way. Sharjah FC, however, went a little too far when it unveiled its new signing, Kostas Manolas, by having him pose next to an actual lion!
The defender's reaction to the lion's small roar has gone viral. Manolas, who was posing in his jersey next to the lion sitting on the ground, was startled when the lion roars at him in the video. He appears terrified and attempts to flee quickly. The video, which was posted on Twitter, has received over 384 K views. Sharjah FC signed Manolas on a free transfer from Greek club Olympiacos.
"UAE club Sharjah introduced new signing Kostas Manolas as a "Greek warrior" and part of his presentation theme included posing alongside an actual lion...not for the faint hearted," read the caption of the video

"First Diego Costa, now this. Only a matter of time before Arsenal are firing new signings out of a cannon and Brentford are presenting players covered in bees," wrote a fan. "My guy is right to be terrified. That is mufasa right there," said another. "As long as he wears the shirt with Pride, the fans will be happy," wrote the third.
Earlier, Spanish footballer, Diego Costa, was forced to pose with real wolves after signing with Wolverhampton Wanderers FC to make a return to the English Premier League. The club's badge is fashioned like a wolf, and the team is also known as Wolves. Costa was seen walking with chained wolves in his presentation video. "Diego is a wolf," said the caption on the video.
In the meantime, the 31-year-old defender joined Sharjah FC in the UAE Pro League last week after spending the previous eight months with Olympiacos in Greece.
