The fifteenth edition of the Indian T20 league is all set to see two new teams, i.e. Gujrat and Lucknow. While Lucknow had revealed their name and logo a long time ago, Gujarat were taking things a little slowly. However, they had announced their official name just a few days before the mega auction.
As far as their logo is concerned, they have finally revealed that as well. The Pandya-led side's logo consists of a kite. It is to be noted that this franchise was purchased by the CVC group for a whopping amount of Rs. 5625 crore.
On Sunday, the franchise took to social media to release the video of the launch. In the video, the team's head coach Ashish Nehra, alongside Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill can be seen. Another important point to be noted is the fact that Gujarat became the first Indian sports team to launch their logo in the metaverse.
“Our DNA is about reaching the top and always moving upwards. There is Gujarat’s kite which is not just our passion but it larger than life. Our motto is to share energy and unlimited power. We stop at nothing,” said Nehra, Pandya and Gill during their discussion before the logo was revealed.

In the meanwhile, Gujarat purchased some top-class players. Although they spent a lot of money in order to acquire the services of Lockie Ferguson and Rahul Tewatia, they purchased the likes of Jason Roy and David Miller for an absolute steal. Before the auction, the franchise had signed three players. Them being Pandya, Gill and Rashid Khan. In the meanwhile, joining Nehra in the coaching staff is the veteran Gary Kristen, who will be serving dual roles of mentor and batting coach. Thus, it will be exciting to see how they perform in their debut season. A lot is expected from them.
