In the meantime, the 28-year-old has been in brilliant form since the recent edition of the Indian T20 League. In the first match of the T20I series against England, he scored a brilliant half-century to resurrect the team after they had lost early wickets in the innings. He followed it up with a four-wicket haul with the ball. He helped the team win the first match by 50 runs.
As for the second match, India once again had a great win in the match. In the first innings, India lost regular wickets, but Ravindra Jadeja maintained his form from the Test match. He hit five fours and scored 46 runs in 29 balls. He helped India set a 171-run target for England to chase. Chris Jordan got four wickets, with Richard Gleeson taking three.
Indian bowlers got consistent wickets in defence, preventing the hosts from settling in. The batters were unable to build any solid partnerships during the game. Moeen Ali appeared to be India's lone danger, scoring 35 runs in 21 balls.
They eventually were all-out for 121 runs, giving India a 49-run victory. Bhuvneshwar Kumar grabbed three wickets, Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal two each, and Hardik Pandya and Harshal Patel one each. With one match remaining, India has secured the series. The series' final T20I match will be contested on July 10th at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
