Team India are currently busy playing the three-match T20I series in New Zealand. However, the first game of the series got abandoned due to heavy rain on 18 November in Wellington. So, after that, the Men in Blue reached Mount Maunganui for the second match of the series. Meanwhile, in this tour, senior players have taken a rest.
Even, head coach Rahul Dravid took a rest from the tour. So, VVS Laxman is currently with the team as Hardik Pandya got the opportunity to lead the team in this T20I series. Now, a video has gone viral where Hardik Pandya and others were seen getting involved in a funny event ahead of the second match.
Here is the shared video:
“This tour is for the new guys to get more clarity” - Hardik Pandya
Speaking of the video, skipper Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, and others were seen dancing with the local people of Mount Maunganui. It was a traditional dance through which the local people greet their guests. However, all Indian players were seen enjoying that event very much. Hardik Pandya and others were seen coming up with moves also while copying them.
Seeing them, VVS Laxman also came up with a great reaction. However, after the first game got washed out, Hardik Pandya said: “These guys are young by age, but not by experience. They have played plenty of the Indian T20 League and got a good amount of Internationals as well. I think the youngsters of today don’t get intimidated by not having played too much cricket.”
“If the situation demands, me and the more experienced players will play different roles, but this tour is for the new guys to get more clarity, opportunities, and a chance to express themselves. The World Cup is done, I’ve left it behind. The disappointment will be there, but we can’t go back and change things. We’re now looking forward to this series.” Hardik Pandya concluded. However, as per recent reports, Hardik Pandya might be announced as the full-time T20I captain for India before the Sri Lanka series.
