On 23 October 2022, India locked horns with Pakistan in Melbourne in their 20-20 World Cup opener. However, the Men in Blue came out victorious as they defeated Pakistan by four wickets. After losing the last World Cup match, it was a much better performance from Rohit Sharma and his men this time around.
Speaking about the match, Virat Kohli won the player of the match award for his match-winning knock. During his innings, he came up with some outrageous shots against a solid bowling line-up of Pakistan. Now, a video went viral where Hardik Pandya came up with a fantastic reaction to one of Virat’s six in the match.

Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the 19th over of India’s innings. India needed 31 runs in the last two overs. For Pakistan, Haris Rauf came up to bowl that over. He bowled very well in the first four deliveries as India managed only three runs. Then, on the fifth delivery of that over, Virat Kohli came up with an outrageous six which blew out every fan’s mind at the MCG.
It was a length ball that Kohli punched with an almost straight bat. The ball straight went back over the bowler's head. Hardik Pandya had the best seat to watch that shot as he was standing at the non-striker end. Seeing that hit, he looked shocked and pumped up as Hardik celebrated with the former Indian skipper.
Then, on the next delivery of that over, Virat Kohli smashed another huge six over the fine leg. Thus, India needed 16 runs in the last over of that clash. However, the Indian batters kept their nerves and finished the match in style in favour of them. Virat Kohli remained not out on 82 runs off 53 balls, including six fours and four sixes. Hardik Pandya also took three wickets with the ball along with 40 runs with the bat.
