On 14 October 2022, Pakistan took on New Zealand in the final of the T20I tri-series. Before the match, both teams met twice in the group stage. However, both teams managed to win a match each as they finally qualified for the final. So, ahead of the 20-20 World Cup, both teams were looking to win the series.
However, Pakistan managed to win the final by five wickets. The Men in Green managed to chase a target of 164 runs with three balls to spare. But, during the match, Pakistan’s Haris Rauf went all guns blazing and broke Glenn Phillips’ bat. The video went viral as fans loved the fiery pace from the Pakistan pacer.

Haris Rauf took two wickets for 22 runs in four overs in the final
Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the sixth over of the match. Haris Rauf came up to bowl that over for the visitors. While Glenn Philips came out to bat with skipper, Kane Williamson. In the second delivery of that over, Haris knocked out Devon Conway. Then, Phillips came to face him.
On the second delivery of his inning, Phillips defended it off the back foot. But, the Pakistani pacer’s pace was enough to break the bat of the Kiwi batter. The ball hit the bat so hard that a bit of it breaks at the bottom. Then, Phillips changed the bat and continued his innings afterward.
However, Phillips scored only 29 runs off 22 balls, including one four and one six. On the other hand, Haris Rauf took two wickets for 22 runs in four overs. In the whole series, Rauf took six wickets in three matches, at an economy of 7.33. Speaking of the match, the home side batted first and scored 163 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the visitors chased it down with three balls to spare. Mohammad Nawaz won the player of the match award for scoring 38* runs off 22 balls along with a wicket with the ball.
