On 7 October 2022, the T20I tri-series kicked off in New Zealand. In the first match of the series, Pakistan took on Bangladesh in Christchurch. Pakistan came up to this series after losing the seven-match home T20I series against England. On the other hand, Bangladesh were coming up after winning a T20I series over UAE.

However, Pakistan managed to win the game by 21 runs. Therefore, a good start for the Men in Green ahead of the 20-20 World Cup. But, during Bangladesh’s batting inning, Haris Rauf came up with an animated celebration after taking a wicket. It seemed a bit over the top as the video went viral on the internet.

Haris Rauf took one wicket for 38 runs in his four overs against Bangladesh

Speaking of the video, Bangladesh openers came out to open the inning while chasing 168 runs. But, Haris Rauf took the wicket of Sabbir Rahman after he scored 14 runs off 18 balls. It was the fifth ball of the sixth over. Sabbir tried to nudge that delivery into the leg side. But he managed a leading edge only.

However, Haris Rauf seemed to have no trust in others as he took that easy cath by himself only. After the cath, he looked pumped up as he threw the ball into the ground. Therefore, the video looked funny to many fans as it went viral. Speaking of the match, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field first. The Men in Green scored 167 runs for five wickets in 20 overs.

Mohammad Rizwan scored 78* runs off 50 balls, including seven fours and two sixes. For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed took two wickets for 25 runs. In reply, Bangladesh managed only 146 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Haris Rauf grabbed one wicket for 38 runs. Apart from him, Mohammad Wasim took three wickets for 24 runs. Hence, Pakistan won the match by 21 runs. Now, they will be in action again on 8 October 2022 against the Kiwis in Christchurch.
