The star South African batter Heinrich Klassen is currently in action with Seattle Orcas in the ongoing inaugural edition of the Major League Cricket 2023. He left everyone in awe with his stunning batting performance in the match against MI New York. Notably, both teams locked horns in the 15th match of the tournament at Church Street Park in Morrisville.
Klassen attracted everyone’s eyeballs when he smashed 26 runs 16th over of the second innings, bowled by the star leg-spinner Rashid Khan. The Protea went on to hit three sixes and a four in the over, including two doubles between the wickets. As for the rest of the match, Seattle Orcas’ skipper Dasun Shanaka won the toss and asked MI New York to bat first. Batting first, New York posted a decent total of 194 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Star wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran played a blistering knock of 68 runs off 34 balls with three boundaries and seven sixes.
Apart from him, skipper Kieron Pollard smashed 34 runs off just 18 balls, including a boundary and three sixes. Imad Wasim and Harmeet Sing scalped two wickets each for Orcas. Additionally, Cameron Green and Andrew Tye also picked one wicket each.
Later, while chasing the target, Seattle Orcas lost their top two early on the score of 37 runs. It was the time when the explosive batter Heinrich Klassen came in the middle. He played an outstanding knock of 110 runs with nine fours and seven sixes to help his side win the match by a close margin of 2 wickets. Klassen remained unbeaten as Orcas chased down the target in 19.2 overs, scoring 195 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
