On Saturday, April 29, at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Mohit Sharma, a pacer for the Gujarat Titans (GT), took an incredible catch to dismiss all-rounder Shardul Thakur of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The incident happened in KKR's innings' fifth over. Mohammed Shami, a skilled bowler, bowled a delivery that Thakur mistimed. At the midpoint, Mohit ran backwards, looked over his right shoulder, and extended his entire body to judge it perfectly.

Even though Mohit was dealing with a left-hand ailment, the development happened. In the first few overs, the 34-year-old didn't enter the pitch. He held an ice pack in his hand for a while, but nothing could keep him from making the great catch.

Mohit Sharma's Gujarat Titans chose to bowl first

When Gujarat's Abhinav Manohar missed a clear opportunity to dismiss KKR opener N Jagadeesan earlier in the day, Mohit appeared upset in the dugout. In terms of bowling, Mohit Sharma has been in excellent shape for IPL 2023. In his first four games of the IPL 2023, the right-arm bowler has taken six wickets at an astounding economy rate of 6.15. He has distinguished himself as the defending champions' top death bowler.

On Saturday, Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Gujarat Titans, won the toss and decided to field against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Following their victory over the Mumbai Indians (MI), they started with the same line-up. On the other side, KKR made compelled substitutions in the form of medium pacer Harshit Rana and wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz. The pair replaced injured players Umesh Yadav and Jason Roy.

Here are the line-ups of the two teams:

Gujarat Titans (Playing XI): Wriddhiman Saha (w), Abhinav Manohar, Hardik Pandya (c), Vijay Shankar, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Mohammed Shami, Mohit Sharma, Joshua Little.

Kolkata Knight Riders (Playing XI): N Jagadeesan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz (w), Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish Rana (c), Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, David Wiese, Shardul Thakur, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakaravarthy.
