Ever since Cristiano Ronaldo opened up on Manchester United and their head coach Eric ten Hag in the exclusive interview with Piers Morgan, there were speculations claiming that the player might as well leave the club at the earliest.

Saying that he felt no revolution in the club, Ronaldo claimed that there was no development post the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson. Further, the legendary player said that he had no respect for the Dutchman as the same was reciprocated by him.

“I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you,” Ronaldo said in the interview that quaked the entire football world. As things stand, the player was eventually terminated from the club based on a mutual agreement on November 22, Tuesday and Wayne Rooney, the former England captain, opened up on the same and said that the legendary player lost his touch and could not replicate the same energy when he was 23.

Once he attacked club, it was only option: Wayne Rooney

Rooney said that there was no other option but to relieve him as he attacked the club mercilessly in the interview. Claiming that it would help him to concentrate on the FIFA World Cup, the former footballer said that it was a shame to witness such events unfold.

“It’s sad. Once he had done the interview and how he had attacked the club, there was no option. I think there was no option. It’s a shame because he has been a servant to Manchester United. He’s obviously still a very good player. I think he is not the player now that he was at 23. It’s probably the best thing… for Cristiano now, the sole purpose will be to focus on the World Cup,” Rooney said in the video to Sports18. The UEFA Euro 2016 winner's future looks uncertain as of now and one could only assume that it might not affect his career.
