The International League T20 is approaching the fag end of the tournament and the teams are giving it their all to clinch the title in the inaugural season. That being said, on February 6, Tuesday, Gulf Giants faced off against Sharjah Warriors and it was the latter who won the game with 7 wickets to spare chasing a target of 108.
To add more, it was the Giants who won the toss and elected to bowl first, eventually bundling out the Warriors for a meagre total. One of the takeaways from the game was the star English batter James Vince’s catch during the first innings to dismiss Tom Kohler-Cadmore off Tom Helm’s delivery in the fifth ball of the 5th over.
As far as the catch is concerned, Kohler-Cadmore mistimed the ball and it went flying in the air, only to be caught by Vince, although the ball slipped out of the hands twice. The English batter dived to the ground and eventually completed the catch, stunning the spectators at the stadium who thought that the catch was actually dropped.

Just when you thought the catch was dropped, @vincey14 managed to grab the rebound to stop the @tomkohlerreal carnage. #DPWorldILT20 #ALeagueApart #SWvGG pic.twitter.com/NoKWXfkl8Z
We play every game to try and win it: James Vince
As far as the Warriors' innings is concerned, the team were bowled out for a meagre total on the back of a stupendous five-for from Namibian star David Wiese. In reply, the likes of skipper Vince and New Zealand star Colin de Grandhomme joined hands to take the Giants with their 27 and 35 respectively, registering a dominating win on the day.
“We play every game to try and win it, the bowlers did a fantastic job and got most out of the wicket. Great to get a win and looking forward to Wednesday. Quick turnaround but it does gives us options and great to see guys come in and do well. Different conditions next game and we will approach that game in best way possible,” Vince was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation.
“Just one of those things, it just works out for you on that day. Just kept it simple and everything worked out. If you get too excited by the conditions, it may not work out. For me it is just about keeping it simple and it was my day today. Nice to take some momentum into the playoffs. Good to get over the line tonight,” Wiese was quoted as saying after winning the Player of the Match award.
