Jhulan Goswami, a former member of Team India, was greeted warmly upon her arrival from England. Young cricketers showered flower petals on the senior pacer as she walked outs of the Kolkata airport. Jhulan played her final international match against England at Lord's Cricket Ground in London on Saturday.
In her final match, the right-arm pacer bowled an excellent spell, taking two crucial wickets and conceding only 30 runs in her ten-over quota. The crowd of West Bengal was elated to see their star return after bringing an end to her illustrious career. The video of the same has gone viral over the internet.

Jhulan, who made her debut at the age of 19, represented India for more than 20 years. The 39-year-old made her debut against England in Chennai in 2002 and also played her final game against them at Lord's in London. The right-arm pacer thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after her last game for their unwavering support and motivation.
Jhulan spoke to the media upon her arrival, emphasising the importance of better infrastructure and exposure for women cricketers in order for them to compete more effectively in international matches. “Women’s cricket in India needs a small push in terms of infrastructure support and more exposure to international cricket," she said.
The veteran pacer also stated that the Women's Indian T20 League, which will begin next year, will be an ideal platform for female cricketers to gain exposure and play alongside some of the best players in the world. She did not, however, comment on her participation in the tournament.
"The women’s IPL would give Indian cricketers the much-needed exposure and boost. I haven’t decided yet if I want to play women’s IPL as and when that happens. I have not yet decided on my next step in my career. I need a break, I want to enjoy the Pujas," she said.
