The ongoing Ashes 2023 between England and the World Test Champions Australia is serving pure entertainment to ardent cricket fans around the world. After producing a thriller in the first Test at Edgbaston, the second clash of the Ashes 2023 has come to Lord’s and started with England winning the toss and bowling first.
Meanwhile, just as the match got underway, an incident in the middle attracted the eyeballs of everyone who is following this iconic rivalry. The oil protestors happened to invade the pitch just at the moment when Stuart Broad was set to start the second over of the first innings of Australia.
Two streakers ran towards the pitch with orange powder for the Stop Oil protest. One of them was tackled to the ground, whereas the second one was picked up and single-handedly manhandled by the veteran England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow. He carried the invader off the ground. Later on, Bairstow had to change his gears and the whites as they had been soiled by the protestors.
Furthermore, the ground staff took over the ground to clean up the remaining orange powder paint. The video of this unexpected incident during the second Ashes Test is now making rounds on social media.

Speaking of the action of the match at the moment, Australia have scored 39 runs for no loss in 17 overs, with openers David Warner and Usman Khawaja in the middle. At the time of writing, both batters are on the individual scores of 29 and 9 runs, respectively.
Notably, the hosts England are already trailing in the series by 0-1 after a close defeat in the first Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham. They will be eager to win the second match at Lord's to try and equal the scoreline. With their four-pacers lineup, the team led by Ben Stokes stand a strong chance of doing so.
