David Warner marked his return to the Delhi team in their match against Lucknow. However, he did not have the best start to this edition as he could only manage four runs in his first match. Delhi played their fourth game against Kolkata, and Warner had something special in the bag right before the start of the game.

The Delhi team posted a video on their official Instagram page in which the left-hander can be seen speaking in Bengali to a teammate. "Hello buddy, how are you? Kemon Acho? Ammi tuma ke bhalo bhashi (how are you, I like you)," Warner said in the video.

The caption of the post read, "A message from @davidwarner31 for fans on both sides. Looking forward to a great game, @kkriders."

Meanwhile, the match between Delhi and Kolkata at the Brabourne Stadium saw the Rishabh Pant-led side win by 44 runs. Kolkata won the toss and decided to have a bowl first. David Warner and Prithvi Shaw gave Delhi the perfect start, as both got to their half-centuries in the match. After a poor start to the 2022 season, Warner redeemed himself with a great game. Along with Shaw, he added 68 runs within the powerplay.

They then went on to score 93 runs together for the first wicket partnership before Shaw was dismissed in the 9th over. Warner continued to play the attacking game as he got little support from other players. Warner was dismissed by Umesh Yadav in the 17th over for 60 runs in 45 balls. He hit six fours and two sixes in the innings

Delhi played three games before the match against Kolkata this season, and had only won one of them. They won their season opener against Mumbai but lost the next two games to Gujarat and Lucknow respectively. Thus, their victory against the Kolkata-based franchise comes as a huge confidence booster for them.
