Kerala Blasters and Bengaluru FC locked horns in the ISL match at the Sree Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium on Saturday, the 11th of February. Both teams fielded the lineups of 3-5-2 and 4-4-2 respectively in the match. Eventually, it was the hosts Bengaluru to cross the line and win the match by a margin of 1-0 against Kerala.

Although this match made it to the headlines not for a not-so-good reason apart from the action of the match. It all happened when visiting fans collectively showed gathered together to assault Bengaluru fans.  Whereas, the reports understand that the BFC fans first initiated the controversial exchanges from their end.

The video of this violent incident is now making rounds on social media and Kerala fans are also facing a backlash from a few of the football fans for their behavior within the premises of the stadium.

Coming back to the action of the match between Bengaluru and Kerala, the veteran center-forward Roy Krishna came with a brilliant field goal to start the score line. The 35-year-old Fiji international scored this goal for Bengaluru FC in the 32nd minute of the match. The hosts managed to maintain this lead till the last whistle from the referee.

Speaking of the other stats in the match, it was only Kerala who kept 70% ball possession of the match in comparison to the 30% of the winning side of Bengaluru. Other than the ball possession, Bengaluru dominated most parts of the match including 19-12 shots and 6-2 shots on target.

Let aside Roy Krishna’s goal, the Kerala players had an upper hand in pass accuracy with a number of 77% in comparison to Bengaluru’s 56%; the visitors played with 462-196 passes during the time they had possession of the ball.

But eventually, Kerala ended up on the wrong side of the match and Roy Krishan won the award of ‘player of the match award for his match-defining performance.
