India takes on Australia in the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Australia after winning the toss opted to bat first and once again failed to trouble the hosts. Apart from opener Usman Khawaja no one looked comfortable against Indian Bowlers as India restricted the visitors to 199/6 till the end of the second session. However, a stunning catch by India vice-captain KL Rahul attracted netizens and created massive buzz on social media.
On the Day-1 of the second Test Australian Opener, Usman Khawaja scored a brilliant half-century under pressure and led his team to post 150 in a crucial condition. Khawaja along with David Warner and Peter Handscomb add two fifty runs partnerships to make visitors stable. Khawaja in his innings scored 81 runs off 125 balls and looked in good touch. In his innings, Khawaja used a reverse sweep to counter Indian spinners and didn’t look uncomfortable against them.
After scoring his fifty, Khawaja appeared completely at ease, and it required a special effort on the field to end his stay. The Australian opener attempted a daring reverse sweep off Ravindra Jadeja in the 46th over of the innings and failed to keep it grounded. Although, KL Rahul didn’t make any mistakes and completed the one-handed catch with a full-stretched dive. This was Rahul’s second stunner of the day as earlier he had taken a sharp catch to dismiss Travis Head.

Ravichandran Ashwin stunned the Aussies with successive wickets
Earlier in the day, after winning the toss Australia opted to bat first. Australian openers continued to score runs and troubled Indian bowlers to get a breakthrough. However, David Warner didn’t look comfortable and was dismissed by Mohammed Shami after adding 50 runs for the first wicket with Khawaja.
Khawaja later added 41 runs for the second wicket with Marnus Labuschagne who once again failed to convert a good start into a big knock. Although Ashwin trapped Labuschagne and gave India a much-needed breakthrough. He didn’t stop there and got the best of Steven Smith in the same over and gave India an upper hand as visitors were six down till tea break.
