Apart from this, Messi was also on the receiving end of the angst of PSG fans a few days back when his club lost to Rennes in Ligue 1 by a margin of 0-2. The fans started booing and whistling the PSG team following the conclusion of the match.

But still, the PSG manager Christophe Galtier went on to defend his team and his players; he felt that the team didn’t have too many choices to bring on the field due to the injuries of players.

"You can’t incriminate my players on a lack of commitment. That’s not true. You can understand that when you’re 2-0 down to Rennes, that you don’t have a lot of options and that there are a lot of players missing, that there might be some resignation,” said Galtier after the defeat against Rennes.
