However, before this clash, he scored the same number of goals as Kylian Mbappe in this tournament.

Meanwhile, both teams did not disappoint their fans as they produced a thriller of a game at the World Cup final. Finally, Lionel Messi’s dream of winning this title for his country came true when Argentina defeated France by 4-2 in the penalty shootout. It was a dream come true moment for him and now a video has gone viral where Messi was seen in tears.

Speaking of the video, Lionel Messi was seen with tears of joy after winning the World Cup for the Rojarios. All his teammates were also seen celebrating the success of Messi as they put him on their shoulders and did a victory lap in the stadium. Speaking of the match, Argentina started the match with a bang when they took the lead in the 23rd minute. 

Messi scored from the spot and made it 1-0. Then, in the 36th minute, Di Maria scored the second goal while Mac Allister assisted him. Thus, the first half ended 2-0. Then, in the second half, Kylian Mbappe showed his class and scored two goals in the 80th and 81st minutes. Thus, teh match ended 2-2 after 90 minutes.

Then, in the extra time, Messi scored again in the 108th minute. But, Mbappe completed his hat trick through a penalty in the 118th minute. Thus, the game ended 3-3 after 120 minutes. Finally, Argentina managed to defeat France 4-2 in the penalty shootout. It was a great performance from their goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez which ensured his team's victory. After such a performance, Lionel Messi now has 12 goals in 26 World Cup matches. While seven goals and three assists came only in this latest edition.
