Australia batter Marnus Labuschagne was left embarrassed after his comical appeal left his teammates and commentators in splits. The fourth Ashes Test is heading towards a tense finish. At the time of writing, the hosts need two wickets from six overs to go 4-0 up. This is definitely Australia's game given that all recognised batters are back in the hut.

However, there was a time when England were in a comfortable position to secure a draw. Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow were looking comfortable against the Aussie bowling. Australia desperately needed a wicket and the skipper Pat Cummins brought himself on for a spell. Cummins bowled a magnificent delivery to Jos Buttler, who lets it go.

It was clearly seen that there was no bat involved and none of the Australian fielders appealed. However, Labuschagne saw something and started jumping and hoping, making an absurd appeal and leaving everyone in splits.

Meanwhile, England once again delivered a poor show with the bat. Barring Zak Crawley, who scored 77, none of the English batters had an answer to the Australian bowling. They now rest their hopes on Stuart Broad and Jack Leach, who need to survive 36 balls to salvage a draw.
