The Big Bash League has been an exhilarating affair with the crowd being treated with several mouth-watering battles throughout the season. Match no 37 between Brisbane Heat and Perth Scorchers was no different. During the game fans also got to see another funny incident involving Marnus Labuschagne.
The star cricketer known for his fun antics on the field was seen making a fake throwing gesture before actually throwing the ball during the second innings of the game.

Coming back to the match, Perth Scorchers captain Ashton Turner won the toss and elected to bowl first. Heat openers Usman Khawaja and Josh Brown walked out to the middle to give a blazing start to their team. The duo started brilliantly as they added 32 runs for the first wicket in 3.5 overs. Marnus Labuschagne walked in next but couldn’t do much as he departed after scoring just 10 off 9 balls. Khawaja had a good start to his innings but failed to carry on and departed after scoring 28 off 23 balls.
Heat were reeling at 89/4 after 11.5 overs, a solid partnership of 61 runs for the fifth wicket between Jimmy Peirson and Max Bryant helped them cross 150. After their allotted 20 overs, the Heat ended up scoring 155/6. Jason Behrendorff was the pick of the bowlers for Scorchers who picked up 3/21 in four overs. Matthew Kelly picked up 2/17 in 2 overs.
Aaron Hardie and Josh Inglis guided Heat to their second win
In reply, Scorchers lost their openers Cameron Bancroft and Stephen Eskinazi with just 25 runs on the board. However, Aaron Hardie and Josh Inglis put on a magnificent 132-run stand for the third wicket which helped their side chase down the target in 16.2 overs.
Hardie remained unbeaten on 65 off 45 balls while Inglis remained unbeaten on 67 off 35 balls. Xavier Bartlett and Matthew Kuhnemann picked up one wicket each for Scorchers. Jason Behrendorff was awarded ‘Player of the Match’ for his outstanding bowling spell.
It was Heat’s just second win of the season as they’re now placed on seventh position with two wins from nine matches. On the other hand, Scorchers are on the top of the table with 7 wins from nine games.
